Sleep is the body’s time to recuperate from the damage inflicted upon it through the day. It promotes the cell’s rejuvenation, the skin to grow a new and healthier layer, and to boost your overall energy. Naturally then, when you don’t get enough of it, your health deteriorates. That includes the worsening of dark circles under your eyes and the appearance of dull skin.
2 YOU DON’T USE SUNSCREEN
Every day you are exposed to the sun and it’s harmful UV rays. Even when there’s a storm and cloudy whether or you’re inside a building near windows, they can still do damage. The UV rays cause premature aging, age spots, sunburn, and even skin cancer. So, give your skin extra protection by wearing sunscreen.
3 YOU’RE EATING TOO MUCH JUNK FOOD
The food you put in your system can either positively or negatively affect your health. Junk Food and processed food especially do the most damage. Not only do they lack the proper nutrients to keep your body in good shape, but they’re also often made with artificial and harmful chemicals which can buildup and become toxins in your system. Their sodium content is also extremely high which can cause your skin to breakout badly and often.
4 YOU’RE NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER
Besides eating right and healthy, your body requires you to drink plenty of fluids too. That’s because we are mostly made up of water and as we go through the day, we sweat. And what we lose, we need to replenish fast or else you could become dehydrated and develop dry skin.
6 YOU’RE USING TOO MUCH PRODUCT
While a good face mask or exfoliating cream is good every now and then, you need to be careful in how often you use them and with how much. Scrubs and exfoliants especially can be good at removing the outer layer of dead skin cells. However, using them often can cause tears on the skin which leads to wrinkles and crow’s feet.
5 YOU’RE DRINKING TOO MUCH ALCOHOL
Water is good. Fruit and vegetable smoothies, in moderation, is good too. But alcoholic beverages are not only bad for your digestive system, they’re also bad for your skin. Alcohol can cause dehydration and dry skin as well. What’s worse it excessive drinking can cause your skin to age prematurely, to develop wrinkles and become dull.
7 YOU’RE SMOKING
It’s universal knowledge that smoking is extremely bad for you. It causes the lungs to become less effective and to develop cancer. In addition, smoking is another threat that causes the skin to age prematurely because it strips the skin of collagen and its elasticity. Smoking also negatively affects the circulation system, preventing blood and air to reach skin cells. So, if you want to look your best for longer, avoid or better yet, stop smoking altogether.
